Antigravity device
Electronics project: magnetic levitation of a small object, with an electromagnet driven in a closed loop by an Intel Galileo microcontroller.
An electromagnet, driven by a second-generation Intel Galileo microcontroller, holds a small object in the air against gravity.
Position is read by an infrared LED and a phototransistor acting as the sensor. The controller adjusts the current through the electromagnet, which changes the strength of the magnetic field, which keeps the object floating. It is a closed loop: measure, correct, measure again.
